Name: Baby's Breath Removal Workday at Elberta Beach - 6.8.19
Date: June 8, 2019
Time: 9:30 AM - 11:30 AM EDT
Event Description:
Join GTRLC and the Invasive Species Network as we work to remove invasive baby's breath from Elberta Beach in Benzie County! Spreading easily over northwest Michigan's beaches and dunes, baby's breath crowds out native plants and degrades important habitat.
The Basics: GTRLC and ISN supplies gloves, tools, water and snack bars. We will teach you everything you need to know about tool use, safety, and the importance of the work you will be doing. No experience necessary, just come ready to learn something new! Be sure to sign in at registration when you arrive. This is a moderately strenuous activity with volunteers often bending and kneeling to dig out plants. What should you bring? Dress for the weather! Always check the forecast in advance. Sturdy footwear recommended. Long pants recommended as there is poison ivy present. Bring a re-usable water bottle and some snacks. Sunscreen and bug spray for your safety and comfort.
Thank you for your interest in volunteering with us!
