On Tuesday February 24, from 11am-noon, the League of Women Voters-Grand Traverse Area (LWV-GTA) in collaboration with Benzie Shores District Library (BSDL) will present a program on civic engagement at home. We'll discuss how to get involved in local government and make a difference in your community. This is the third in a series of three programs on voter awareness. The speaker for this program will be Alice Schuman, Voter Services Co-Chair for Grand Traverse Area League of Women Voters. Benzie Shores District Library is a welcoming community resource that fosters learning, creativity, social connections, and opportunities. We are located at 630 Main Street, Frankfort, Michigan 49635. The LWV is a national, nonpartisan organization whose main mission is to empower and inform voters and to defend Democracy. The League neither endorses nor opposes candidates or parties but encourages the informed and active participation of all citizens in government. The League works to increase public understanding of public policy issues, and influences public policy through education and advocacy. The website of the local league is www.lwvgta.org.
