Michigan based ragtime artist Peter Bergin will explore the intersection of ragtime with early American Parlor music from the 1850's -1930 featuring Louis Moreau Gottschalk, Scott Joplin, Eubie Blake, & George Gershwin. Selections from The Great American Songbook will add Glenn MIller, Irving Berlin and others - only the best - on into the 50's. Ragtime concerts with Peter Bergin are interactive and insightful. Peter gets audiences moving to the beat and puts smiles on faces every time with his charming stories and anecdotes. Audiences gain a better understanding of our American musical heritage. It is a celebration of life through music and stories.
Classically trained, Peter embarked on a full-time music career after twenty-four years in computer software. There isn't a day he regrets this decision! He looks forward to bringing ragtime to audiences everywhere as a testament to America's original popular music.
